Victoria Mourns Her Dead, 1896

On May 26, 1896 the city all came out to celebrate the seventy-seventh birthday of its namesake, British monarch Queen Victoria. It was a massive, festive affair with events and celebrations throughout the city. But it would end in disaster and death.
